Runningboard Worm

Runningboard Worm

How did he and she get up there? I don't think it was the bottom of my shoe, unless he/she sloshed around a bit. I wish I had that kind of vertical jumping ability.

Here's an example of the girls' work with the tablet.

Pi Day--3.141592653589793

So last Saturday was March 14th--Pi Day. You gotta love pi. It is the most amazing constant, plus it tastes good. Brad's math teacher told the class that whoever ate pie on Pi Day would earn an extra 20 points. Sweet deal. Peterson's Produce had already sold me a box of Fuji's, so I had the goods.

Two extra apple pies earned me extra credit visiting teaching, too.

NoT So School Portraits

Ever since Aynie was about 4 years old and Brad 2 I've avoided commercially produced portraits. I couldn't tolerate the Sears Portrait Studio waiting room, bad moods, naptime interruptions and red-faced photos. I finally totally quit on school-appointed portrait shoots and retail portrait studios altogether when Brad freaked out at the Walmart photo studio. He was terrified. Those cute colorful paint cans with spills fakely dribbling down the sides and the white step ladder must of reminded him of a night terror. Anyway, I had to share this cute portrait of Daniel taken outside with a tripod and an Adobed backgroundPhotobucketCute as a bucket of puppies, huh:)

Morning Glazed Worm

Two days ago I reminded Bob about a worm poem I wrote while attending BYU. It was something about being a savior to a worm caught in a rain puddle on the old steps that lead up towards the Maesar building on the south of campus. I had picked up the worm and tossed it into the flower bed. Well, this morning after a light snow in the night a worm was on the driveway when the temps dropped. This time I'll leave it to someone else to resurrect this guy. Here's the most recent worm poem twenty-three years later:

Morning Glaze

Arise, son of Hermes
Daughter of Aphrodite
Asleep upon a concrete meadow
Ice has swallowed your victory
Adieu visceral home
Humus of soggy soil
Forsaken one, I'm helpless to ransom
Someone else will have to quicken thee.

OK OK. Here's a better one:

Morning Glaze—the Haiku

March robin hor´ doeuvres
Glazed eyes look from concrete plate
Earthworm popsicle

Bob and I toted the new camera and our old tripod up to Dry Canyon Parking lot Sunday evening. I can't help toying with the panorama tool in PSE7. It worked a lot better than PSE3. The pano looks good on my computer screen, but when I put it on the blog its too big unless I make it too tiny. There's no happy in between. Stupid thing.
