Sick Girls Stay Home

Head cold is now headed for sinusitis.

Busy Shannon

Shannon has knit another headband.  She's got to take advantage of this headband fad while it lasts.

She makes a good model for this beach beanie pattern, too.

Shawshank Excerpt

I really enjoy the juxtaposition of Mozart's aria from Le Nozze di Figaro and the austere, hopeless lives of the prisoners in this except.

Shan's Blue Headband

So headbands are all the rage.  Thin ones. Thick ones. Rhinestones, silk flowers, crocheted.  Shannon made this knitted headband with a crocheted flower.  She looks very suave, hip, "sick."  I hate that "sick" adjective and its current meaning as "really great."

Baa-eutiful

I love this. I love Knitty.com and Ravelry, too.

Holiday Scrapbook 2009

The holiday break was too short. Guess that means I'm getting old, except Daniel thought so, too. We had lots of fun. Stayed up late and ate too much.

Avian Pigs

Shan, Whit and I bought the HUGE box of birdseed at Costco on New Year's Eve then filled our old birdfeeder. That didn't seem to be enough so we bought a mega-birdfeeder at Home Depot, it holds 11 lbs. of seed, and put it on another side of the house. In one week the seed is gone. I'll need to ration the food for these flying oikers.

New Year's Eve Party

We younger Smiths partied hearty by sledding and eating homemade donuts with hot chocolate on Uncle Paul's snowy hill.
We all were able to stay awake till midnight and watch the delayed broadcast of the descending ball in NYC.
