South Fork Cascade Springs Round 2

The first trip on the South Fork Cascade Springs trail was beautiful, but this time the colors were even better.  Aspens had joined in the color show and Bob was able to enjoy the fall leaves more this time.  He is red/green color blind, so the maples' show wasn't that hot to him.

Fall is in the .... Shoe

I was looking for my running shoes which look similar to Shannon's and I found Shannon's shoes full of red maple leaves and dirty socks. Hummmm....The cross country team had run to Dry Canyon and then on the single track. Shannon said the leaves were too beautiful to leave.

Autumn Biking on Cascade Springs South Fork Trail

We have to make an annual mountain bike run on the South Fork Cascade Springs Trail every autumn. We were a little earlier this fall so the maples were amazing, but the aspens hadn't changed. I do favor RED! We found a lot of red  maples on the south facing mountain sides, especially on the drive up to parking at the summit of Alpine Loop.  Once on the trail headed north we didn't see as much autumn color.  Give nature a couple of weeks and the aspens will be glorious gold.  We may have to ride this trail again just to see the aspens.  I was giddy when I saw how the photos of the maples looked  very saturated right out of the camera.

You can see the smoke from the Alpine, UT, fire. It has been burning since June. It's hard to reach and extinguish.

Chicken Dinner

You wouldn't think  that birds have personalities. The chickens I own probably are motivated to put on a good show for us humans simply in the pursuit of food; however, some of these hens are so funny in their little velociraptor ways. You know your kitchen floor needs to be swept when the hens prefer to dine under the table rather than on the old crackers just scattered outside.

Weird and Strange

Saturday night, not late, maybe around 9PM there was a knock at the door. Since we're over a week into September it's dark by this time. I wouldn't even call it nautical twilight. Bob discovered this strange Buddha statue on the porch with two Post-it notes. The first read, "Rub my tummy." The second read, "Worship Buddha."  It wasn't a Homecoming dance acceptance which we had been expecting.  Just weird....

I Can't Believe She Made the Dress!

Aynie was a really good sport to where this dress I made her for the Sweethearts Ball in 2009.  But, I still think that she suffers psychologically from the experience.

I was breakfasting with the morning paper and was reading Rhymes with Oranges.  It was spot-on perfect, Post-Traumatic-Dress Syndrome.

Mother Not Like Son

Mark has and is still learning how to sport climb safely. He's doing great, but his mom is another matter.  I didn't want to sit in the harness and put my feet up--no sirree!
