Injured Grandpa Car

Yesterday, President's Day, Brad with his friends Jeffery Jarmon, Michael Hasson and Ashlee Olson were trying to find Ashley Wilkerson's friend's home.  They were headed to the movie "Lightening Thief" and needed to pick her up.  Brad discovered that 1100 North and 1300 West in Pleasant Grove UT is not a four way stop.  Luckily, no one was injured.  Jeffery was slapped pretty hard by the air bag and had a major titty-twister from his seatbelt, but was not seriously hurt.  Brad, who was driving, had some airbag burns on his wrist and forearm from the air bag chemicals.

We will probably find out tomorrow whether the GC has been totalled.  It is a close call.  The entire front end has been bent towards the passenger side.  The engine was still running after the collision.  One month ago Brad bent both rims on the right side of the car blowing both tires when his merge lane ended abruptly leaving him with a 6" ledge to drive over to get back on the road.

Brad has been severly humbled and he wasn't that cocky previously.  Bob and I are so happy the kids are OK.  Take a look at the damage.

Shan Singing "Put Your Records On"

Shannon performed in the Sixth Grade Talent show this afternoon.  She is taking lessons from Lisa Harris.  It is amazing the progress Shan is making under Lisa's tutilage. Here's the video:

Whirlpool Double Oven Rant

This piece of junk Whirlpool double oven has been a problem for years.  After we moved in 12 years ago I used the clean cycle on the upper oven (the lower oven is analog, no cleaning cycle, nothin', not even proper temperature maintenance). Anyway, the the clean cycle melted the control panel $100 back then.  The repair person put in some insulation in the top, but that didn't help.  With trepidation I used the clean cycle a couple of years later--yep, it fried the control panel again.  Bob put a new one in, $100.  So, I don't use the clean cycle for 5 years and decide I'll run the cycle for half the three hour time period.  Stupid move.  It didn't totally fry the control panel, but it eventually died one month after the cleaning cycle.  Brown dripping came out of the light switch and from around the kep pad area.  Finally, the digital read out flipped out and wouldn't stop beeping.
Oh, and the control panel costs $300 now.

Capitan Hat Break

So, I'm into knitting Spoke sweater on the Knitty.com website. I finished the back and needed a quick fix. Here's Capitan Hat from Ravelry.com. Shannon again makes a great model.  I am 75% finished with a second for Aynie.

Shan's First Gym Meet

Although Shannon is not quite a Level 4 in gymnastics, Coach Michelle Patterson suggested she go to the Arete meet here in Lindon as practice.  She was beautiful.
