Autumn Biking on Cascade Springs South Fork Trail

We have to make an annual mountain bike run on the South Fork Cascade Springs Trail every autumn. We were a little earlier this fall so the maples were amazing, but the aspens hadn't changed. I do favor RED! We found a lot of red  maples on the south facing mountain sides, especially on the drive up to parking at the summit of Alpine Loop.  Once on the trail headed north we didn't see as much autumn color.  Give nature a couple of weeks and the aspens will be glorious gold.  We may have to ride this trail again just to see the aspens.  I was giddy when I saw how the photos of the maples looked  very saturated right out of the camera.

You can see the smoke from the Alpine, UT, fire. It has been burning since June. It's hard to reach and extinguish.

  1. Aynie, do you remember last year when you hurt your thumb and Bryce biffed. Well, this year Bob tangled with large stones on the trail and pulled one of his calf muscles in his descent.
